There are several commonly used screw slot types for screw fasteners, including Phillips screws, Torx screws, slotted screws, Pozidriv screws (plus/minus screws), hexagon socket screws, as well as less commonly used triangular slot screws, Torx with shank screws, hexagon socket with shank screws, and pentagon screws. With so many slot shapes, how should we choose when using them? What are the respective characteristics of these slot shapes? Now, let's briefly introduce the characteristics of the slot shape of Torx screws:
First, let's take a look at the comparison chart of screw slot shapes:

The slot patterns of slotted screws, Phillips screws, Torx screws, and Torx screws with a plum blossom pattern are shaped like flowers. When using a Torx screwdriver to tighten screws, the force is evenly transmitted into the inner plum blossom-shaped slot at a 15° angle, allowing for more effective transmission of tightening torque.
The groove shape of an Allen screw is hexagonal. When using a tool, its torque force is transmitted along a 60° angle, and the tightening torque force spreads outwards, resulting in wear. However, the Torx screw effectively reduces the damage to the tool and screw head due to the contact between the tool and the groove surface. There is no stress concentration, thus reducing the risk of damage to the tool and screw head.
When using a tool for hexagonal socket screws, only the six corners make contact. As the tightening torque increases, the force becomes concentrated on the corners of the tool, potentially causing damage to both the tool and the hexagonal socket part of the screw head.
Torx screws are widely used in electronic and electrical appliances, as well as home appliances. They are commonly used for connecting and fastening both internal and external parts of products. Some torx screws may have customized appearances and colors according to the specific use of the product. For example, the CD-patterned internal torx screws used in mobile phones are commonly used for connecting and fastening the phone's casing.
